Perfect Conditions for Riders at Murray Bridge

Hardly a breath of wind disturbed the waters of the mighty Murray River today when 40 female cyclists rolled into town and established camp at Sturt Reserve for the annual Skinny Lattes Cycling Club Tour.

The near perfect conditions in the morning saw many of the riders recording personal best times on the out and back Individual Road Time Trial Circuit on the outskirts of town.  It was no surprise when  U17 Junior rider, Olivia Wheeler, dominated the Junior Divison 1category.  Wheeler's ride was strong enough though for her to take out the Fastest Time of the day across all senior grades as well, congratulations Olivia!

Sunday's Road Race course looks deceptively flat on paper but the heavy road surface, ever present lake breeze and undulating bumps was enough to sap the legs of many riders.  Despite numerous attacks, A & B grades come down to nail-biting bunch sprints.

The tour consists of three stages, across the two days and has riders competing in Individual Road Time Trial & a Criterium on Saturday, then backing up with a Road Race on Sunday.
